About Us
Brief History
Valley Day has served the community since it was founded by the late Eugene and Martha Holder in 1979. In 1996, Jan Morash took over as the owner and Principal leading the school with dedication until her retirement in 2020. Ramona Ramlall is now the proprietor and principal continuing the school's mission to inspire lifelong learning, nurture inclusivity and empower students to reach their fullest potential in a supportive and caring environment.

At Valley Day, we aim to be a beacon of hope for children that do not fit the typical standard of education in the Virgin Islands. We want to be the first choice for parents who value a system that recognizes and harnesses diverse creativity in a constantly changing world. We seek to establish a learning community where students feel safe and appreciated for who they are and not what they should be. Our curriculum should produce who are well-rounded and able to make positive impacts in their community and beyond.

We are a full Elementary School (Grades K-6). By working in small groups, we are able to create and maintain an environment that recognizes, addresses, respects, and promotes the individuality of our students. Just as their learning styles, capabilities and rate of progress vary, so do our teaching methods, pacing and use of materials. Our students learn to push themselves, support each other and work side by side to meet personal challenges and goals in an atmosphere of tolerance and open-minded acceptance.
